Seniors Celebrate the End of the School Year

The 2016-2017 school year has flown by, and it’s not done yet. With summer vacation approaching, students are stressing about everything from projects and finals to college admissions. Teachers and administrators are finalizing grades and ready for a break. Everyone is ready for some fun in the sun; fortunately, Kennedy hosts multiple events to ease the end of the school year. Seniors have the most to look forward to as this time of the year is littered with events just for them. A detailed schedule for senior events is listed below:
Senior Rally [June 2nd]: While the event is premise around the class of 2017, the entire school is invite to join in on the fun.
Sadie Hawkins’ Day [June 2nd]: A tradition that gained popularity during the 1950’s due to Lil’ Abner comic strip, Sadie Hawkins’ Day is celebrated by women asking men to an informal dance. The Elks Lodge will be hosting the event from 7-11 pm. Tickets range in price with Kennedy graduating seniors just paying $1, all other students (with ASB) pay $5, those without ASB $10, and guest passes will cost $20.
Senior Awards [June 6th]: All Seniors have been invited to join the administration and staff for an evening of awards. Aside from giving out awards, the administration will congratulate all those that have received scholarships.
Senior BBQ [June 7th]: Student government will be hosting this summer feast at the football stadium from 6-9 pm. Dinner will including hamburgers, hot dogs, fresh fruit, chips, and ice cream. Aside from dinner, seniors can enjoy the multiple bounce houses, photo booths, and various painters (both face-painting and Henna).
Senior Trip [June 9-10th]: The class of 2017 travels to Southern California to enjoy the wonders of both Disneyland and Redondo Beach.
Graduation [June 12th]: Awards and speeches will be given but most important, Kennedy seniors will walk the stage and complete their high school education.
Sober Grad Night [June 12th]: This event has been planned and will be hosted by a parent committee. Events include a raffle, craps, and cards.
