Kennedy vs McClatchy Basketball Review

The Kennedy Cougars Varsity and Junior Varsity  Basketball squads played their rival the McClatchy Lions at home Monday night. 

The JV squad had been on a good run as of late, winning 5 of their last 7 games, and having a 10-5 record overall.

According to Maxpreps.com, The JV squad led for the majority of the game without letting the Lions get close. The Cougars beat McClatchy 53-33, giving them an outstanding 11-5 record.

Next up is the Varsity game. The Cougars varsity squad had been trying to get back on track after dropping 4 games in a row. The Lions however came in with a strong 9-6 record.

According to Maxpreps.com, the Cougars were down at the end of the first quarter losing 25-8. The Lions lead extended to 39-8 until Kennedy went on a 14-0 run getting them within 17 points at halftime. Not much went well in the 2nd half for the Cougars as they fell short, losing 68-50. 

The Varsity squad has now dropped to a 7-10 record while also having a 5 game losing streak. The Cougars Varsity team will have the opportunity to bounce back on Friday over Monterrey Trail who come in with a 5-13 record.
