Kennedy's girl volleyball team has enjoyed several satisfying victories this season, and has endured a few bumps along the way.
On Tuesday Oct 2, the Kennedy girls volleyball team had a match against McClatchy's girls volleyball team. This game being their second game in the league. As well as a home game. There were 3 different teams that played: Freshman team, Junior Varsity (JV) and Varsity (VAR) Freshman starting at 4:30, JV at 5:30, and VAR at 6:30.
For this match the volleyball team had pink bows in their hair. According to Aliyah Yang, a Senior on the girls varsity team they all had pink bows in their hair to support breast cancer awareness month.
Varsity had the most intense game. Amazing blocks and receives and spikes from the girls getting big reactions from the crowd and some pretty long rallies. The house was pretty full with many audience members from both sides John F. Kennedy and McClatchy to cheer on both teams.
Although none of the teams brought home a win they worked and played hard. We saw many amazing plays and potential for the future games to come. There are only a few games left in the season so make sure to go out and support the girls volleyball team.
Senior Night is on October 22 and our last home game.
