On Friday, Feb 21, 2025 the JFK Boys Volleyball team had their first home game, playing against West Campus. Throughout the game, there were three teams that played: the Freshmen, Junior Varsity (JV), and Varsity (VAR). The teams started the season off strong with leading scores on all their sets, hoping for these Cougars to continue their effort in their future upcoming away and home games.
All teams had an amazing defense and many amazing plays. From hitting some powerful spikes and blocking spikes. As well as some really good digs to save the ball and good serves. Varsity took home a Win, winning all 3 sets.( 1st set 25-21, 2d set 25-15, 3rd set 25-14) All 3 teams had pretty amazing teamwork and worked well together to get points. For their first home home the house was pretty full and a big crowd that hyped them up.
Kennedy had another home game on March 5, playing against Franklin High School. So far it was one of the most intense and close games they have played at home, for Var playing up to 4 sets and for most sets catching up each game to take the win. The Var team took the win, winning 3 sets out of 4.( 1st set 25-20, 2d set 17-25, 3rd set 25-19, 4th set 25-23) Jv also played against Franklin also taking home a win winning two sets in a row ending the game.(1st set 25-15, 2d set 25-18)
On March 7, Kennedy had another home game playing against Rio Linda. Both JV and Var played. Jv yet again to take home another win continuing their winning streak by only playing 2 sets. Var fought hard and also took home a win playing up to 5 sets. (1st set 25-23, 2d set 25-22, 3rd set 21-25 , 4th set 21-25, 5th set 15-13)
On March 11, Kennedy had a home game against Burbank. All teams played and took home a win. Seeing good sets and spikes as well as digs from the teams. Quite a few A.C.E.S throughout the night as well. Var played 3 sets with the first set being the most intense where Var made a comeback to win the set officially going 27-25. The rest of the 2 sets went 25-19 and 25-22 with pretty long rallies. JV won their game putting on another streak where they have yet to lose against any schools going 6-0.
On March 13, Kennnedy had another home game against El Camino, where both JV and Var won as well. Both teams played well and had great teamwork and had leading scores on all their sets. Seeing some amazing plays from the team from sets and spikes. Var: 1 st set 25-13, 2d set 25-14, 3rd set 25-19.
Overall there is a pattern of Kennedy winning all their home games. The Freshman team has not played many games but are doing pretty well going 3-1. JV showed promising efforts for the rest of the season, as of March 19 where overall they are 7-1 and winning the Stockton Classic tournament. Same for Var as well going 7-3 winning all their home games. All teams are playing well with good teamwork showing a promising season for Kennedy. Make sure to show up to support the Kennedy boys volleyball team.
