The Kennedy Girls Tennis Team is kicking off the season with fresh faces, big goals, and plenty of team spirit!
Junior Brooke Braley is stepping into her first official season and is excited for the opportunities ahead.
“I’m feeling pretty good, honestly,” Braley said about how it feels to finally start. “This is my first season actually playing with the team, and it’s all been pretty new to me. Getting used to matches and being active has really allowed me to be a good asset to the team and play higher up.”
Braley is especially looking forward to the Metro tournament, with a personal goal of placing in the top two for singles. She describes her team’s energy as “chaotic, energetic, and compassionate.”
Senior Rose Gonzalez is also new to the team and is motivated by the friendships she’s building.
“I’m excited,” Gonzalez said. “I get to be with my friends!”
Gonzalez hopes to remain in the top six and possibly move higher. She admits her biggest challenge is controlling her power during matches, but she’s motivated by the support around her.
“We work really well as a team,” Gonzalez said. “We’re all really chill with each other.”
Rose Gonzalez also gave a shoutout to teammate Tiffany, quoting she’s “a really good player, a very nice person, and a big team player.”
Junior Tiffany Elliott said joining the team has already been a powerful experience.

“Starting my journey on the girls tennis team this year has really boosted my anticipation for a great season, ” Elliot said. “Although we are a new team, we’ll still take on the challenge.”
Elliott is most excited about making memories with her teammates and improving her tennis skills. Her biggest challenge is keeping a strong mindset during games.
“I notice a big difference in my performance when I have a positive mindset, rather than thinking I’ll lose anyway,” Tiffany stated.Tiffany describes the team as “high-spirited, uplifting, and empowering.”
With players motivated by friendship, growth, and resilience, the Kennedy Girls Tennis Team is ready to take on their season with passion and positivity.
