John F. Kennedy High School recently hosted its second movie night, bringing students together for an evening of entertainment, snacks, and school spirit. This time, the featured film was Black Panther, a popular superhero movie that attracted students from multiple grade levels.
Many students said the movie choice and the opportunity to spend time with friends were the main reasons they attended.
Freshman Kali Oliver shared that nostalgia influenced her decision to come. “I came to movie night because Black Panther is a movie I’ve enjoyed since I was young, so when I heard they were showing it, I knew I had to go,” Oliver said.
She also noted how the setting made the experience unique. “I’ve seen Black Panther multiple times with friends and family, but this was the first time I’ve watched it at school. I came with my friends because I knew it would be really fun to watch together.”
Another freshman, Melody Chang, said her decision to attend happened naturally after school activities. “My sister is the boys volleyball manager, and practices don’t end until around six, so I decided to stay for movie night since it was already happening,” she explained.
Melody attended the event with people close to her and experienced the movie for the first time. “I went with my friend and my sister. I actually hadn’t seen Black Panther before, so this was my first time watching it.”
Junior Raymond Benavidez also emphasized the social aspect of the event. “I went to movie night with my friends. We planned to hang out, and it was my first time watching the movie,” Benavidez said.
Overall, the second movie night at John F. Kennedy High School created a welcoming environment where students could relax, connect, and enjoy a shared experience. With positive feedback and strong participation, many students hope the school continues hosting similar events in the future.
