The Class of 2026’ gathered early Friday morning at the school football stadium for senior sunrise, a tradition that celebrates the start of their final year of high school. Before the event we spoke to senior class president Alicia Jackson to ask some questions, as well as her opinion on senior sunrise, and what lies ahead for the graduating class.
When our interviewer A’Nya Curtis interviewed her, she gave us a lot of good information, how she felt it would go and what would be there. “I expect it to go really well, I feel like my committee and I are doing a fabulous job preparing for it. I also think all the seniors are looking forward to it as well.”- Alicia Jackson
They planned to have cool things like games, bagels and beverages for everyone, a photo booth, with fun props, and more. With an expected count of 150-200 students.
“I’m really excited about it. I feel like it’s our first big senior thing,to start off the year. So I feel like it’s going to be a great way to start the school year.”- Alicia Jackson

Upon arriving at the event, they had a beautiful balloon arch, a food table, games, photos and more. The seniors gathered around with blankets and phones, recording and taking memorable pictures of the sunrise. “My favorite part was spending time with my friends.”-Serene Nixon
The students really enjoyed their time, and so did we. What a beautiful way to start the school year.
