Club Rush has brought energy and enthusiasm to campus this week as students explored 18 different opportunities to get involved in. From cultural clubs to sports and creative groups, students across campus expressed excitement about what the new school year has to offer.
For a lot of freshmen, Club Rush served as their first real introduction to the variety of activities available on campus. “It’s fun, it’s nice looking at clubs and exploring them,” said Yaritza Hernandez, a 9th grader who joined the K-pop Club. Her classmates shared the same idea, noting the wide range of options.
“It’s pretty good, there are lots of stands,” said Jaylina Contreras, a freshman who signed up for the Native American Club. Another freshman, Aniyah Tarver, appreciated the selection as well, “There are a lot of options.”
Clubs like K-pop, Sports activities, and cultural groups drew plenty of interest among classmen, with students saying that joining felt like a good way to connect with others. “Yeah, the K-pop one,” said freshman Madalene Lupian when asked if she signed up.
Upperclassmen, already active in clubs, emphasized how important these groups are for building friendships and community. “The clubs are amazing. It is the most amazing and awesome thing this school year,” said Elton Lan, an 11th grader in the Volleyball Club. He added that he expected a strong turnout: “I think it will go wonderful, everyone is going to sign up.”
Leaders of established clubs also expressed optimism. “The club rush will be good for us, we always have a good turnout,” said Tia Haley, a senior in ROTC. “A lot of people are excited to do the pullups.”
For student leaders like Ckai Pho, president of the Art Block Intervention club, the event was not just about sign ups but also about community. “I’m hoping they will be able to make new friends, because I made this club to have art friends to work with,” Chaki said.
As the sign up sheets fill, students look forward to a year of new creativity and shared experiences. proving once again that students value clubs.
